Taking over her Trentino family estate in 1985, Elisabetta Foradori has quickly become one of Italy’s top winemakers. Without a doubt, she is Italy’s finest producer of wines made from the Teroldego grape variety, one of the country’s oldest and finest traditional grapes.
Genetically linked to Syrah, the bouquet of this 30+ year old vine Teroldego is a complex mix of sweet black fruit coupled with notes of blood orange, dark chocolate and classic Italian overtones of olives, herbs and soil. Like Syrah, it can also offer a hearty meatiness, with beautiful balance and a refined Northern Rhone-like style. |

Peay Vineyards Chardonnay 2007, Sonoma What the heck are people doing growing grapes and making wine from way out on a ridge top above the Pacific Ocean? The answer: Together Andy and Nick Peay, and winemaker Vanessa Wong share the vision of farming grapes on the Sonoma Coast and making wines that are expressive of its unique climate and soil in their pursuit of creating world-class, single-vineyard wines. This 2007 Estate Chardonnay achieves exactly that with its inviting appearance and focused aromas of coconut, lemon curd, Asian pear, and jasmine tea, intermingled with gravel and chalk. It is crisp, elegant and impressive. There are very few chardonnays like this in the New World- 720 cases produced. |

Bodegas Guelbenzu, a family run winery producing Tempranillo, Cabernet, and Merlot blends of Navarra, has been selling wine commercially since the 1800's. Today Guelbenzu is considered one of the most interesting and dynamic wineries in Northern Spain. “Evo” is one of three wines produced, representing the “Reserva”- aged 12 months in oak, and comprised primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon. It is delicious, elegant, and Bordeaux-like.
